Etihad Airways And Jettainer Make Unit Load Device Management Deal

ETIHAD Airways,the national airline of the United Arabia Emirates,has appointed Jettainer to supply,manage and maintain their ULD(unit load device)fleet for an undisclosed contractvalue.

Operations are scheduled to start on March 1 next year,and will run over a period of five years and cover global management of Etihads complete ULD fleet.

With Etihad,the ULD management provider continues its expansion towards the Middle East and Asia.An operational team has started to work intergrated within its customers hub,to ensure a seamless operation,excellent communications flow and alignment with the client.

Wikipedia describes a ULD aspallet or container used to load luggage,freight,and mail on wide-body aircraft and specific narrow-body aircraft.It allows a large quantity of cargo to be bundled into a single unit.

The Middle Eastern airline received a complete fleet of brand new ULDs.The fleet includes modern and environmental impact of an airline as well reduce costs,with the ULD management firm having developed a container 15 per cent lighter than the standard aluminum version,said the Etihad statement.
